OKAY. I cannot get over these two. I met with Rachel a couple of weeks before this session and I think she told me about 10 times how much she and Colby would need help and direction during their shoot. Honestly, I get that a lot from couples – it’s totally normal, I never expect you guys to know what to do in front of the camera!! So when we met that breezy afternoon, I came fully prepared to work to bring them out of their shell. 5 minutes into our session, I realized they needed almost zero direction (this also happens a lot lol).
Everything was working – it was a gorgeous 70 degree day in February, the wind was on our side and I had two people completely in love in front of my lens. Easy. As we ventured around one of my favorite locations in Dallas, the sunset transformed the sky into gorgeous pink and orange hues. This lighting is my favorite! Texas sunsets are hard to beat for a reason. This session has really turned into an inspiration for my work. Something about their lighthearted and carefree demeanor. I mean when you’re this in love, it’s hard to take a bad photo!
I can’t wait to see these two again in June for their epic summer wedding! Until then, I’ll just have to settle on reminiscing on this perfect day and posting their faces all over my Instagram.
