I absolutely loved photographing Nicole and Matt’s wedding back in January! It was one of the first weddings of the year and if that has any indication to how 2019 will go – I am PUMPED. This was one of the few instances where I hadn’t met my couples before shooting their wedding, so I didn’t know what exactly I was walking into! But I was so excited to shoot at Terrain in Glenn Mills. I loved the grounds and how beautiful and scenic everything was even in the dead of winter! Honestly would love to go back in the summer to see all the flowers and greenery that grow in the nursery.
Nicole and Matt started their day off with an emotional first look that really set the tone for the rest of the night. This is why first looks are one of my favorite moments to photograph. It gave them some time alone with each other and relieved any nerves they had. Usually with first looks, I step back and give my couples the space they might need – this is their moment! Another thing I really loved about this day was how much Nicole and Matt truly embraced the winter and the snow (actually Nicole had told me that she wished it would snow!!). We were able to take our time outside with their portraits and I think it was really worth it!
Their ceremony and reception was just as intimate and romantic. The great thing with Terrain is that it has really amazing bones and doesn’t require a lot of decor. Nicole and Matt definitely took advantage of this. Just as the night was ending, the snow started to really fall. We snuck away to grab a few quick photos in the snow before their farewell – the perfect ending to such a romantic winter day!
